I was introduced to photography by someone, I'm sure. I just don't remember who. I was part of a club in junior high, but mostly because I was interested in a girl who was also in the club (that went no where, as it turned out).
I didn't return to photography until after college when digital cameras started to get a lot more consumer friendly. I bought a Canon PowerShot A40 and was amazed at what I could do. Suddenly, black and white photography wasn't so difficult.
For a while after that, I didn't do much photography. But I've recently started looking for shots again. Having learned everything I could do with my trusty Canon and finding the extreme limitations of what I could do, I took the stimulus payment offered to Americans in 2008 and purchased a Nikon D40. Thus the era of DSLR began for me and I haven't looked back so much have I enjoyed the massively increased flexibility such a camera can offer.
I'm still learning quite a bit as well as getting to know my new camera all over again. But I'm looking forward to getting my chops back and learning to once again find the shots that I have passed by every day without noticing.
