When I was a kid I had this strange habit of treating both sides the same. If I touched a flower with my right hand I instinctively reached for it with my left hand. That worked out OK most of the time.... unless I accidentally touched a hot stove or a sharp knife. :(

I have an interest in symmetry and in particular vascular symmetry and why most of us don't have it. LOL I enjoy NIR images that reveal veins beneath the skin that are not normally seen. Most people are interested when I show them something about themselves they did not know... like the number of veins in their hands, feet, etc...

My interest in symmetry likely stems from my interest in 'treating both sides the same' as a kid. My friends think I should have been a doctor based on my interest in seeing inside the body with infrared cameras. I just find vascular patterns interesting I guess.

No matter how much we may look alike on the outside, we're all very different on the inside and it's our differences (not just anatomical) that makes us unique!

I use this Flickr account to explore my weird side haha.
