I collected vintage dog photographs for more than forty years, Selections from my collection were published by Bloomsbury in a series of four books: ‘Prince and Other Dogs’ ‘Prince and Other Dogs II’ ‘Postcard Dogs’ and ‘These Were Our Dogs’. I am also the author, with Tom Phillips of ‘Postcard Cats’, published by Bloomsbury.

I have been passionate about photography since I was given a Box Brownie for my seventh birthday. I worked for two years as a press photographer, but prefer taking photographs for myself. Over the past few years I have been scanning some of my negatives from the late 50s and 60s. They are collected in albums on Flickr. I am currently working on a book about the dogs I have lived with and photographed throughout my long life.
