Growing up on the hill above Edmonds Washington, I looked out over Puget Sound and dreamed about distant places as boats passed. Major glaciated mountain peaks were present in my mind - when not visible to the eye. The quiet friendly community and many loving and well-traveled family friends gave me the sense that all people are part of the human community.
I sought experience, community, and love - traveling between SE Alaska and Southern Peru; crawling, walking, climbing, sailing, skiing, diving to explore this marvelous planet. Now I pray that it's beauty will survive and humanity will survive to continue in mother-earth delights. Many of my old photos are gone into oblivion, but I create new images and experiences to enrich my life.
I spent many years as a family man - father of two children and a dedicated husband. Now they all have gone their own ways. I am single and enjoying life that way. I like to travel alone but not lonely. When I travel, I enjoy interacting with interesting people and landscapes wherever I go. The earth and her people are like a vast library waiting to be read. Learning languages makes that possible.

Lew really is high on life, full of smiles, positive energy, good words for others... he has a mind full of intriguing bits of information on a wide range of subjects and loves to share what he knows with others much to my delight. I was fortunate enough to meet Lew at the Flickr Campout I had organized at Twin Falls in southern Washington... and I have a lot of respect for this man in many ways. With the tiny P & S camera that looks too small for his hands, he has captured wondrous macros and other photos.... with a delightful enthusiasm about learning new things. Thank you Lew for the testimonial you wrote for me, and for sharing your laughter and camp cooking skills with the group! *group hugs!!* Starlisa
