I have loved taking photos for as long as I can remember and will snap a shot of anything that catches my eye. I don't have the fantastic "eye" of a truly gifted photographer, but I still snap away because it gives me so much pleasure. I love nature shots and sky shots and am really getting into macros.
I cannot abide going anywhere without a camera, just in case. I carry a point and shoot pocket camera in my purse just so I'll always be ready. My first decent camera was a compact Pentax that my dad gave me. He'd been given it by his work and when they upgraded him to the more "modern" disc camera(remember those?) he gave me the Pentax. It was so awesome. It had this neat little button for back light that allowed me to take some great pics when I didn't know anything at all about photography. (Still don't, really) I still remember taking a shot that my sister told me wouldn't be any good because I was taking it directly into the sun. It turned out to be one of the best shots I'd ever taken. I still love it.
Eventually, my dear husband gave me an awesome Canon, which was the first SLR camera I'd ever laid my hands on. That led to a Sony Cyber-shot. I eventually upgraded to a DSLR (Nikon D80) and recently to a Nikon D7000. I bought the pocket cam because the other cameras are too bulky to carry everywhere I go. I love it because it's just so easy to whip it out and taken really good shots. I use it all the time.
I am a Christian so you will NEVER see any shot in my collection with even vaguely suggestive or vulgar images. I focus a lot on my animals because I love them so much and they're all just so adorable! I'm also pretty crafty, though I have thus far never focused much on documenting my projects.
I hope you all enjoy my pictures. Just please remember that despite the little icon beside my screen name, I am not a professional photographer. I take photos because it pleases me to do so. I am trying to learn how to do it well, though that part seems to be going quite slow! :P
**UPDATE** I have finished my cancer treatments and am finally reaching a place where I feel a bit better and have the energy to get out and take some shots. It's a slow recovery, but I am making progress. Plus, my DH bought me a new macro lens, flash and misc. lighting aids for Christmas, co there's a lot of experimenting to be done! :)
