I am a retired Software Engineer who worked for Santa Barbara Research Center, sold to Raytheon to become Raytheon Vision Systems. I attended Midland School in Los Olivos and then Humboldt State University. I have been a amateur photographer since I was in grammar school. (My first, and still most awesome SLR was a Miranda.) I became interested in Birding when I purchased my Canon 20D, my 1st venture into digital, and needed something to photograph. Now I am not sure which I love better, birding or photography; but surely I do not miss hours in a darkroom. I do regret no being better at disposing of not so good photos as I currently have 80,000+ photos, most of which need to be trashed. That will happen one day. By me or my daughter.
