Silvia Cordero Vega was born in Buenos Aires. She is a Graphic Designer, a Teacher and a Calligrapher (University of Buenos Aires). She has nurtured her calling and great passion for the art of calligraphy through her teaching and designing jobs.

Since the 90s she has worked consistently to disseminate this art by becoming part of various projects where she has expressed and emphasized calligraphic gestures and lines as main parts of modern calligraphy.

She attends tutorial sessions, workshops and masterclassses with calligraphers known worldwide: specialized with Sheila Waters, Thomas Ingmire, Peter Thornton, Gottfried Pott, Denis Brown, Gaynor Goffe, Claude Dieterich, Brody Neuenschwander, Yves Leterme, and John Stevens. She considers her best influence to Brody Neuenschwander, among others.

She had investigated the history of the writing in several libraries and museums, such as: Museum Plantin Moretus, Bruges's Public Library (Belgium), Museum Amsterdam (Holland), Museum Cluny, (France), Library Medicea-Laurenciana, Apostolic Library Vaticana (Italy), British Library, The Bodleian Library, Victory and Albert Museum (England), Trinity College (Ireland), Klingspor Museum (Germany), The Pierpont Morgan Library, Metropolitan Museum, Paul Getty Museum, Public Library of San Francisco (the) (USA) between(among) and other public and private entities dedicated to the conservation and study of manuscripts.

Her work is anchored on three main points: teaching, through lectures, master classes and demos at different universities, foundations and associations, both at a national and international level; the practice of calligraphy applied to design in her own study, and calligraphic art as a personal means of expression.
