I have been taking photographs for over 60 years and until 2004 worked exclusively with color transparencies. I have lived and worked in the United States, Iran, Singapore, Indonesia, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam, where my wife and I have retired. I flew helicopters, with cameras close at hand, for over 42 years in North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. I have recorded images in the United States, Germany, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Egypt, Turkey, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Iran, China, Korea, Singapore, Nepal, India, Pakistan, Bhutan, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Japan, Mongolia, the country of Georgia and Vietnam. During the course of twelve treks since 2000, I have photographed the landscapes and cultures of the Himalaya, Karakoram, and Daxue Ranges in China (Tibet, Xinjiang, and Sichuan), Nepal, India, Pakistan and Bhutan.
My work has been published in The Sunday Telegraph newspaper and on their website; in four of Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine's photo contest issues; and in The Asian Oil & Gas Journal magazine, including a full-page advertisement and cover. In 1992 I published a series of seven note cards featuring images from the remote Indonesian province of Papua (in the Indonesian half of the island of New Guinea), where I lived and worked for over 8 years.
