Hi I’m Leon.

I’m not a professional snowboarder, skater or surfer. I haven’t shot for big time magazines or companies. I didn’t grow up with a camera around my neck or knowing what I wanted to be. My parents are definitely not famous artists and I didn’t even know where I would be in a month’s time.

I do however love taking photos! I love adrenalin sports and photographing people with an active lifestyle. I love the term “Urban”, to me it sets a scene of strong shapes, colours and textures, alleys covered in graffiti and stencil art and kids dressed in “hip-hop” fashion, each with their own unique story.

On the other side of the scale I also love the new vintage scene, rehashed 80’s fashion, oversized antique jewelry, and cruiser bikes. It creates a unique sense of freedom associated with sunny afternoons at the beach.

I work hard to achieve what I’m passionate about and with everyday that passes I believe more and more that cliché terms like “live your dreams” and “you can do anything you set your mind too” are true.

I hate that society judges people because they look different, and I hated it more that I was once part of those doing the judging. Since taking my photography in the direction I dreamed of, I have been working very hard to change these bad habits and recognise the unique qualities in everything and everyone.

I hope my photos reflect some of what I’m proud and passionate about. They might not change lives or be filled with the most unimaginable meaning, but this is what I love.
