Making photographs, for me, comes from an intuitive, emotional response to my environment, whether natural or man-made, a moment when I direct all my attention to a scene that inspired me and compelled me to stop. This time I spend looking at how I could compose a scene showing my familiar environment in a different light is extremely rewarding, it feels uplifting and at the same time serene.
