About Critiquing Photos
I'm absolutely not into writing things like "Nice tones" oder "Great photo". I'm not here to make anybody feel flattered. When I write something, I do it because the photo appeals to me, but there is nothing to mention specifically. But I also write things like "I would have cropped this there..." or "A little bit dark". That does not mean, that it has to be this way; it only means, that this would be a way how the photo would probably appeal even more to me.And I do not comment photos, which I don' t like a little bit.
About Licensing Photos
All my photos are licensed by the Creative Commons cc-by-nc-nd. That means, that everyone who wants to use the photo for her or his own blog or website can use it, as long as the website itself does not follow any commercial interests. Furthermore the picture must not be changed or altered in any way (cropped, edited or changed to b&w).
About me
I'm not a professional photographer, my profession is chemistry and engineering. My hobby is photography, so: I would rather call myself serious or dedicated photographer than professional one; both in terms of money and skill. There is not much what I can say about photography without sounding like a know-it-all. It took me a couple of years to realize that photography is more to me than taking party snapshots and family memories. Maybe in the beginning it was like that, but then it became one of my most important spare time occupations. It is a hobby, in which I can be creative and while doing that I can relax from a hard day at work just being alone by myself with my camera.
You know, sometime you hear people asking you something like "Is this your camera? Ah. So, a XXX (insert model or type)?", predicating a professional status by your equipment. And no, I do not agree with this attitude (as do most people). I moved from modern digital equipment to old analog cameras, shooting film. If you do so you will realize that disclaiming features like autofocus and exposure metering makes you more aware of your motive, the mood of the scenery and of the whole process of taking a photo. Thinking about every photo for at least some seconds is of some importance. Basically the deliberate consideration which aperture to choose gave me a big improvement on my hobby. And there is a lot to learn. There is still so much I want to try in photography and much I want to do.
Now, go and look at my photostream. Or don't. Take a look at all of my photos at once. Or just peek at the first ones day by day. Sometimes I tell stories about my life. Sometimes they are just about glimpes, things I've seen when life passes by. And if you take photos yourself, take a shot look.
And then go out and take photos for yourself. We never have enough time for that. So do it for me, I barely have time for it.
You can also find me on facebook or add my Google Friend Profile. Some more sites I use are last-fm and vimeo.

Testimonials
Cheers!
