Lena Jácome attained her B.F.A. Degree in Dance Performance at New World School of the Arts in Miami, FL and earned her M.F.A. Degree in Choreography and Performance at Arizona State University. She is currently a Roster Artist through the Arizona Commission on the Arts and was awarded a professional study grant to study in Spain in 2010. She has been a dancer for Calo Flamenco under the direction of Martín Gaxiola since June of 2003. She has guest performed in the World Premiere of Pangean Orchestra at Symphony Hall and she tours nationally with both Calo Flamenco and The Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble.In 2012 Lena performed as, and choreographed for the role of 'Flamenco Dancer', in Teatro Bravo!'s presentation of 'Lorca in a Green Dress'. In November 2012 she was an invited guest artist to perform for the Ibero-American Association in Jakarta, Indonesia.

 

Lena has traveled to Spain multiple times to study with the Directors of Arte y Pureza: Cihtli Ocampo & Ethan Margolis, Concha Vargas & Juana Amaya and she recently published, 'Flamenco! ' a flamenco photography book showcasing Sergio Photographer's images based on The Chris Burton Jácome Flamenco Ensemble .
