In August 2009 I first tried out an SLR when I went to London with a friend. I had no idea what I was doing, spent the whole day in manual with manual focus, and later realised that the viewfinder wasn't set up for my eyes - the perks of needing glasses. I promptly went onto ebay and bought a refurbished Canon 400D and a crappy kit lens, later getting the 55-250 and then the Sigma EX 30mm 1.4, which spent most of its life on my camera until I got the tiny Canon EF-S 24mm STM which (still) does a pretty sterling performance. December 2015 led to the purchase of a Canon 760D, and then by 2017 a bit of a lack of interest in photography. Thanks to an unexpected bonus in 2019 I got the Canon M100 with the 22mm and 15-45mm lenses.
I like reading, music, travel, running, ducks, bouldering, guitar and the generic activities. In the past I thought I was struggling to fit it in, fastfoward to 2019 when my daughter was born and it feels like there's no time whatsoever in the world (so hoorah for dropping to a 4 day week in 2021).
Photography isn't the be all and end all, but it's a damn good way to remember things.
