I joined Flickr in May 2006. I had a job, but at the time I was spectacularly underworked. I had access to the Internet and enough free time to use it, so I became a Flickr addict!. Although I was (unsurprisingly) made redundant in May 2008, I kept up my Flickr account and at one point I had over 7000 photos here. In mid-2017 I became disillusioned with Flickr for a number of reasons, and stopped using it. I deleted most of my photos, and maintained only the free account.

But now in November 2023 I'm back! Uploading new stuff, and hopefully re-uploading some of the old stuff.

Please also note that I do NOT welcome lewd or suggestive comments on my pictures. If you leave any comment which is inappropriate I WILL block you.

Please remember that Flickr is about photo-sharing not photo-collecting. You should always have more publicly-available photos in your photostream, than you have favourites from other people. Taking photographs does not need to be expensive. These days most cellphones have a built-in camera, and if you haven't gone a cellphone then buy a cheap disposable camera. Either way, you should have SOMETHING in your photostream. Photo-sharing - it isn't rocket-science, is it!

If you are looking for technical excellence, perfect thirds composition and spot-on colour balance - then you have probably come to the wrong place. Photography to me is about capturing the ephemera of our daily lives. It's as much about gravestones and letterboxes as it is about sunsets and waterfalls. Everything changes. Capture it while you can.

My main camera is still a Sony Alpha-350, but I don't carry that all the time. I also use a small pocket Samsung, and of course the ubiquitous iPhone - currently a 16 Pro Max. I'm seventysomething, and live in South Wales, UK.
