I am a conservationist and restoration ecologist who works in the Bay Area. I currently serve as Executive Director for Golden Hour Restoration Institute (www.goldenhour.org) and conduct part time work around imagery that makes conservation and restoration engaging, accessible and hopefully powerful. ... ideas I'm currently digging ...

a) grain can be real sweet (my Fuji 9100S at ISO >800 is a real champ at this :)

b) wide is wonderful, those Canon ELPH's are extraordinary

c) movement makes a photograph

d) long exposures are like puzzles (fun when you get them)

e) presets on Lightroom - save your post processing scheme in order to revisit it, I have an HDR one I'm working on for LR2 (for fun)

f) notes make a photo - artists, please add some detail, emotion, situation, friction - whatever, it brings the viewer in for a second or third look.

g) inspire with photography. people will listen.
