AS AM I?

Well, usually there are 5 kinds of girls/women in Flickr.

THE EXHIBITIONIST - They are divided into 2 subgroups.

1 - Those who are sympathetic. They like to joke and comment the pictures of the others (but they are rare).

2 - Those who are really assholes. They think that they are so special and precious and they just want to be admired. They don't comment photos and perhaps by a miracle they could write a miserable: 'Oh thank you!', if you give a nice comment over one of their pictures (but only sometimes).

THE SNOB - They are divided into 2 subgroups.

1 - Those (patethic) who add in their list only people who they consider at the same level of their GREAT talent (LOL!).

2 - Those (super patethic) who are just assholes. They are in Flickr only to show their 'masterpieces' bcs their creations are so 'divine', like they were 'a must'! (LOL!).

THE EMO GIRLS - They are the ones who always put pictures filled with a great melancholy. Usually they don't have a boyfriend or they are unfortunate in love (not a big suprise IMO, eh eh eh!). They use Flickr just to vent their frustration. Usually they're interested only in their pictures and very rarely to those of the others.

THE TEENAGERS - They use Flickr like it were Facebook. Put and erase pictures at the same time. More contacts they have and more they are happy. For them it's important the number of their contacts and comments but not the quality of their 'followers' (and most of them are even ancient men!). They're always so happy when someone add them and comment their photos. So, often they write: 'Thank you so much!'. But they are happy only bcs they've got a comment more (hypocritical little bastards) and they don't go to see other albums of course. They put almost exclusively photos of their faces or photos with friends. After a certain period, however, they are tired of Flickr and don't put pictures anymore. (These attitudes don't include all the teenagers in Flickr, of course, but surely many /most of them).

THE REGULAR - Luckily there are even some girls/women who normally like to share photos and comments with the other people and I like them of course!

Honestly I could add even another kind: girls/women who are in Flickr just for curiosity (they are unreliable and usually, after a short time, inevitably, they find Flickr a little bit boring and they quickly disappear).

Many of these attitudes often also can be applied to the men. For example, I usually really dislike people who never write 'thank you' and who don't give feedbacks (it's a form of selfish miseducation). And besides, really obnoxious are those who decide to thank only some contacts (ignoring the others) during their replies to the compliments that they've received! I dislike too people who add their photos or clips or web-links togheter with their comments (I always reply in a polite way but it's clear that they are not true appreciations but smart (?) self-promotions!). Also particularly odious are those who comment photos by writing: 'Uncool'. It didn't happen to me until now but I find it a really shitty attitude! Also I hate men who send me e-mails to bothering me in some nasty or impolite way or those who write that they adore me but when I reject them (bcs I'm not here to get some 'adventures') they quickly start to ignore me and my works (bleah!).

On the other hand, there are even nice men around Flickr and I like them very much!

Anyway, I am a girl (young woman) so, in this case, I'm just interested in talking about my 'category'.

Well... I'm totally different.

I am not a hypocrite, so I know that I'm a beautiful girl, too many people told me (including photographers and painters) but I absolutely don't want this aspect to become the most important in my Flickr portfolio. IMO it's more important to show my artistic talent (if I have one).

About my style... well I like to give a touch of 'dazing' art in my photos, with special editings (I'm slow in putting pictures bcs I'm never satisfied about them!). So, even when I insert naked photos of mine, I always try to give them a particular touch of bittersweet feeling. Moreover, in my album there are also other types of work, sometimes even rude or dark, sometimes just creative (and that have nothing to do with the sexy stuff), sometimes they're just simple shots..

But the thing that really differentiates me from many /most of the other girls/young women who put photos in Flickr is the fact that, although I actually have many people in my list, I past most of the time to inspect ALL their pictures and to give nice comments. So, at the end, I spend more time to comment photos than to shot, create and put my own works. It's a sincere pleasure to me and a rare event for a young nice girl in Flickr.

Well... sincerely, I am not writing this to praise my person, but to emphasize the disappointing smallness of some people.

In conclusion... I'm not (very) exhibitionist, I am not sbob, I'm not a tragic pathetic emo, I'm not a selfish hypocrite like many teenagers, I don't use Flickr as if it were Facebook and I'm not an arrogant asshole. But, however, none of this makes me think that I'm so special! I'm not so special! No, seeing Flickr, day after day, I'm realizing that I'm just... different.

AS AM I? I'M JUST DIFFERENT.
