I was born smack in the middle of the 1950s to a mother who was not your average June Cleaver. Every morning she would sit with us for hours at the kitchen table and we would make things. The oldest of four, I inherited all of her genes that make it impossible to not make things.
My passion for art is only equaled by my passion for reading, so it makes sense that I ended up majoring in Illustration at Massachusetts College of Art. I graduated with a BFA in 1977 and have made my living for the past 30 years working full-time as an Art Director in the corporate world.
I’ve come full-circle and am getting back to my roots. I love the brain-to-hand-to-paper, (or fabric) connection that just isn’t quite the same when you stick a beeping computer between your brain and the final creation. Inspiration for my latest project comes from my so sweet Australian Shepherd, Annie, aka Annie-Banannie and Angel/Devil-dog.
My preferred method of communication is still to Make something; Put it in front of the person; and say “See what I made, what do you think?” This one little line has opened many doors and introduced me to so many wonderful people!
