Music was life before photography to this former guitarist born in 's-Gravenhage. Since early childhood, Laki had lived a nomadic life due to his father's work that required the family to move in and out of different countries every few years. In 2000, the family had moved to NYC where he began taking his interest in music more seriously that later led him to form a band called Fervor of Solace which released an ep album in 2005.

Briefly after the recording was done, Laki had to follow his family relocate to Jakarta. Having to start over in a new environment once again, Laki grew interest in photography which was a hobby of his father at the time. In late 2005, he picked up the camera out of curiosity. Art cover on cd albums inspired him to take a deeper dive into photography. Soon he attended a course in photography. Along the way, Laki drifted to the world of fashion photography.

To this day, photography has been a passion of his life. Having the music as inspirations to the creative process, Laki have been creating images of different mood and feel.
