I initially viewed photography as an extension of my love of nature and the outdoors. But it has evolved into much more than that. Capturing light, shadow, shapes and, more than that, feelings and emotions makes photography both a frustration and a joy! As I evolve and gain skill I hope to have fewer frustrations....but the frustrations are what make the times when I get it right that much more satisfying.

A few favorite quotes:

Nature holds the key to our aesthetic, intellectual, cognitive and even spiritual satisfaction.

E. O. Wilson

Our job is to record, each in his own way, this world of light and shadow and time that will never come again exactly as it is today.

- Edward Abbey
