For me, photography is all about love.

I fell in love with photography as I was falling in love with my husband. On our third date we went on a photography walk and it was at that point that I fell in love – with expressing my creativity and capturing beauty.

As our relationship flourished, so too did our art. Together, we spent our free time side by side with cameras in our hands. We photographed friends and family and couples and weddings. We were enamored with capturing the love found in others and preserving their memories.

In July of 2008, Dan and I were married and by our first anniversary I was pregnant with our first child.

Being a mother has given me a new appreciation for photography. To me, taking pictures is no longer just about capturing first loves and “I Dos”. Beauty and love can be found in places other than a bride in her gown or in her groom’s face as she walks towards him. It is also present in a new mother’s anticipation as she stares at her blossoming belly or in a father’s eyes as he is present for the birth. It is there in the consistency and stability of a family just as much as it is evident in a bright, fresh relationship.
