Bio:

Laura Michaud, a lifelong Rhode Island resident, has been involved in photography since high school. She was an editor of the Scituate High School Yearbook, where many of her photos were included. Her photos have appeared in newsletters for Festival Ballet Providence, where she spent most of her afternoons and weekends as a student. This spring, she graduated from URI’s Honors Program with a Bachelors in Art (Photography) and English. Her photographs have been accepted in several juried art shows, as well as in the Spring 2017 issue of the online student-run art magazine, Ether(bound). Her photographs have been used in many Hera Gallery Newsletters and for the “Stronger Together” series. Her photograph “Green Hall at Dusk” was chosen as the 2016 URI Holiday Card. In the spring of 2017, Laura worked with photographer and URI professor Annu Matthew to complete her Honors Project on Alternative Photographic Processes, studying and using 19th century photographic processes. She has taught photography classes at Jamestown Arts Center, has worked in the URI Photo Lab, the URI Main Gallery, and Hera Gallery.
