Single mother of a brilliant, beautiful, 11-year-old boy. Living in Florida now after we were displaced from our previous home in Mississippi by Hurricane Katrina. We lost everything for one reason or another. I am just starting to regain some normality in life and I am beginning to see the beauty in everyday things through a hand-me-down camera that I love. Photographing children in black and white is my current passion. I strive to capture candid moments of joy, sorrow, and especially those quiet moments of reflection and daydream in my work. My own recovery and slowly developing ability seem to blossom when communing with children, and I am starting to feel whole, creative, and more than a little inspired. You could say I am an avid amateur who aspires to be so much more while simultaneously mending my slightly fractured psyche...

I was a Web Developer and graphic artist for a university in Mississippi before the storm. I imagine I'll be getting back to that kind of job eventually. Right now I am enjoying taking pictures and pretending to be a photographer! :)

She's an artist. Her color sense is nothing less than perfect. She has a genius for composition. Her monochromatic portraits of children are stirring, poignant, powerful with insight--the best child photography I've seen anywhere by anybody. Her little paintings knock me sideways. They are magical and composed with love, pixel by pixel. She's a gifted, very smart, absolutely superb photographer.

you challenge composition guidelines left and right. and the whole time i hear "free to be you and me" playing through your sets - your capture of children is so naturally thoughtful.

First testimonial I write, but your pics have moved me. Nothing about 'great work' or high technique'. Just 'human feelings'. Thank you for your pictures.
