Larry Lagin is a retired scientist who worked on two of the world’s largest nuclear fusion research projects at Princeton Plasma Physics and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Since retiring in 2014, Larry has taken drawing and painting classes in a Specialized Drawing certificate program at UC Berkeley Extension, and is presently in their Post Baccalaureate certificate program in Visual Arts, specializing in painting.
“My love for art matches my passion that I have for science. In many ways, I feel that science and art are very much alike – there’s nothing like the pursuit of creative exploration and discovery that I find from both.”

I’d like to thank all the students and teachers in UC Berkeley’s Visual Arts program and especially my program mentor Larry Robinson.
