It wasn't until opening Largely the Truth in 2009 t I put any real work into writing. Originally, the site was focused on restaurant reviews but as I have the attention span of a fruit fly it didn't stay that way for long.
Since then I've written about current events (Recession? There's a Wicker Man For That), people, and travel (Road to Olympia) while occasionally providing coverage of various events (Victoria Spoken Word Festival, Mr. Olympia Bodybuilding Competition, to name two).
In April 2012 I started work on my first book, "A Strange Little Place", a collection of ghost stories from my hometown of Revelstoke, Canada. My first draft was finished in October 2013 and, after two radio interviews, caught the attention of a publisher. They've encouraged me to expand the book so I'm back at work and that particular story is still being written.
Outside of blogging, my work has appeared in the Vancouver Province, Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Diversity Reporter, What's Up Victoria! & Revelstoke Current. In addition I have written and edited a number of publications for the Canadian Forest Sector.
Lately, when not pushing paper at my desk job, I've been combining my enthusiasm for paranormal lore with my habit of throwing myself into situations, the result of which has been stories like "The Thing About the Desert"
You can reach me on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and via email at bren (at) largelythetruth (dot) com - I’m a talker so hearing from people is always fun.
