Lama Lodro re: Meditation, Spirituality, and Other Interests
I inherited a red-green hunter's adaptation in my eyesight. This eye adaptation gives people like me enhanced shape-recognition, and colour camouflage doesn't work on us. I can clearly see the shape of deer in the woods and tigers in the jungle.
So what catches my attention as a photographer are interesting subjects, structures, and patterns.
But red, green, orange, burgandy, and teal all look like brown to me. It's not good for sorting through fresh vegetables, and it's also why my wife helps me with colour-balance.
Thanks to Gerry Kopelow of Winnipeg, Manitoba (Lama Gyurme Dorje), a world-class architectual photographer extraordinaire, for the wonderful gift of his old 5Dii after he upgraded to a 5Diii. Some of my best nature photographs were taken with that 5Dii.
Finally, many thanks to my wife, Chrys Antaya, for colour-balance help, for botanical-zoological research, and for assisting with text for my photos. My typing and spelling lags far behind my photography.
