I am still an amateur in this wonderful world of photography even though I have been behind the lens since I was 12 years old. I started out with a Werra and my own hand-rolled B&W film, & I spent more time in the darkroom than I did shooting in those early years.

I made the leap into the digital world only about 4 years ago, starting with a Sony Mavica on loan from McGill University. I signed that camera out one weekend after another and had a wonderful time capturing as much of Montreal as I could.

The first digital camera I owned was (& still is) the Nikon Coolpix 5700. It's now a good backup to my recent acquisition: a Nikon D70S. The latter is a joy to work with (and uses a tenth of the battery power that the Coolpix did!!)
