To those who elect to "follow" me:

1. Be warned that I upload photos EVERY DAY, but promise to limit it to five photos per day at the most. These are queued up in Schedulr software, to upload a "photo a day" at midnight Central time, and (usually) another small batch at high noon. Even with this I still have hundreds and hundreds of photos backlogged for possible future uploading.

2. Please don't be offended if I don't follow you back. As of late I've been finding it very hard to keep up with even a small handful of "contacts" (former word for followers, flickr changes the nomenclature all the time!). I can take time to mostly follow guys who focus primarily on retail subjects like myself, but not time for much else.

3. No other rules, none of that "don't favor unless you leave a comment" crap! Do whatever you find time for, but if you do comment I'll take time to read it, provided it doesn't get lost in flickr's sometimes fickle "recent activity" system. Speaking of which....

4. I find comments I wasn't aware of on older photos all the time, so don't be offended if I missed your comment at first, only to find it months later! Blame it on flickr.

I got interested in old retail like many others did here on flickr and elsewhere, by looking at other's photo sets. Dixie Square Mall and other jonrev photos were fascinating, and still are. Later it was mostly the photos of Darryl James and Andrew Turnbull, among others. I literally went through hundreds of those guys photos, and looked at the Dixie Square sets probably dozens of times! I started wondering if anyone had taken any such photos in the Memphis area, and especially "south of the border" in Mississippi. Not much had been covered retail-wise in the Memphis area, so I started doing it myself.

Hey, thanks for adding me back as a contact. Just wanted to say I really enjoyed your pics, especially those depicting suburban decay. Looking forward to see more of them! Keep up the good work and have a very happy new year! :)
