Kentucky Shakespeare Festival is the oldest free, professional, independently operating Shakespeare festival in North America. Since 1960, Kentucky Shakespeare Festival has provided free Shakespeare performances in historic Old Louisville's Central Park during the summer months. In addition, the Festival has summer camps for 5-18 year olds, a prison program at Luther Luckett Correctional Complex in Oldham County, and K-12 education programs that have reached to all 120 counties in Kentucky as well as surrounding states. In 1984, Kentucky Shakespeare Festival was designated as the state Shakespeare Festival.

We're in the process of going through years of archives for our 50th anniversary. Have any old photos, playbills, brochures or posters of Kentucky Shakespeare and Shakespeare in Central Park? Let us know: info@kyshakes.org.
