The first cameras I used were the disposable Kodak cameras, followed by the Nikon Coolpix S200, that my parents gave me when I was growing up. I would take them with me on vacations and to summer camps and would quickly fill them.
I enjoy Fine Arts and Technology which combine in all the right ways in Game Design, which I pursued at DigiPen Institute of Technology, earning a B.A. in 2017. The biggest draw was getting to make something with my own hands and being proud of it after everything that happened. Photography and cinematography are huge in games to get each scene to look and feel a certain way through composition and lighting. I wanted to learn more about it in a class setting and earned a Photography Certificate in 2021 through the UW Continuum College.
I always preferred being behind the camera, rather than in front of it. Photography pulls me in by capturing moments that bring back memories and stories to share or experimenting with something new that catches my eye. I enjoy taking pictures of travel and nature, food and drinks, pets and wildlife, night photography, and all around experimenting. There’s also the occasional selfie while I learn and grow and discover more and more.
Lately, I’ve been using my phone’s camera and getting more familiar with my Nikon Z7 whenever I get the chance, leading to wandering wherever I am. This tends to lead to shooting on-the-go with minimal to no planning, but I prefer it this way.
