“It’s one thing seeing the beauty, and another thing to feel it.”

(Unknown, Cross Country magazine, January 2000).

Welcome to my portfolio of images captured since discovering photography while paragliding in Australia’s Victorian Alps in 2000.

As all my images are copyrighted, please contact me via Flickr mail if you'd like to use any shots.

Inspiration

The legendary European adventure sports photographer Thomas Ulrich fueled the initial desire to share with others views of the Australian landscape my friends and I fly in. Now it’s the stunning images by European pilots Jérôme Maupoint and Felix Wölk that motivate, along with many other published paragliding and pure landscape photographers.

My aim with paragliding photography is to show wings and their pilots interacting in beautiful and dramatic land-, sea- and cloudscapes; to reveal some of the magical moments we experience above terra firma. It would be a wonderful thing if my collection encourages you to go taste of the birds' and the clouds' domain, if you haven't done so already.

Prior image publication

Apart from web-based publication, my images have been print published in national and international publications such as Cross Country mag, Paramotor mag, the former Fly and Glide mag (now Thermik), the UK's Skywings, Soaring Australia, Pacific Flyer, Hang Gliding Federation of Australia's 2006 Calendar, the 2009 & 2010 Australian Paragliding Calendar and in various non-flying related brochures, catalogues and other non-flying magazines (examples in the 'In print' set). I'm happy to provide images where required and fitting.

My time lapse and short film work is on Vimeo and more photography at Instagram
