i'm a proud Avatar-American.

no, that doesn't mean i am one of the blue people on the planet Pandora, this is me in the world of Second Life. my SL me is an idealized version of Real Life me, what i would get if i lightened my hair and kept my figure from college. (well...oookay, i mean, if i kept the figure i tried very hard to get to in college.:)

things have changed of late (in 2013), but previously much of what i did on SL was roleplay in a science fiction settings. if you want to know more, there are some details on the in-character blog i started (and then promptly abandoned), so by all means check out my wordpress blog.

in SL i can be my idealized me, with a spacious house and huge closet of designer clothes (lately these are all white or mostly white because, ummm, i just wanted to have a theme... and an excuse to shop :). we can all do that, live our dreams and fantasy's with idealized bodies of beauty or power or whatever it is one wants. there is one tiny caveat. We're stuck with our personalities. we might be doing things far wilder than what we would ever dream of doing in RL, but it's still us. we can't escape that. if someone is a jerk and a liar out there, they are a jerk and liar in here.

oh, and since some people ask, my name is spelled KYLE and pronounced KY·LIE. my mother says my dad had a reason for this, but i think they just misspelled my name on the birth certificate :) i'm not the only girl who was saddled with a missing I, there seems to have been a batch of us released into the wild in the early 70s.
