Years ago I began shooting photos with a Pentax my brother purchased in Thailand while he was in the service. The camera was "fully manual" and I learned to shoot on instinct and with what knowledge I retained from high school photo class. I graduated to a new camera, an Alpa, though not the hand-made model, This camera was big, bulky and had the old Pentax screw base for its lenses. I loved it. I shot black and white in the beginning. Bought a cheesy cheap 28mm lens. I shot with that camera from the age of 20. 25 years later, as my eye-sight continued its deterioration, I was disappointed with the quality of my photos.

We planned a family vacation to Hawaii, and I bought my first digital camera to record the trip: Canon EOS Digital Rebel. Most of the pictures on my Flickr site were shot with that camera. Between the advancements in 35mm photography since my original film camera, and the wonders of Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro, I found my interest and love of photography renewed.

Late December, 2007, I purchased a Canon Rebel XTi, and my journey continues.
