I am an amateur photographer who has spent a lot of time in photojournalism. Other than a little sharpening of edges, I am not a fan of Photo editing programs to enhance photos (that said, there is a lot of very good work being done with editing programs). A person should be able to compose a shot with the gear that you have in hand.

I go so far in my attempt to capture finished images in the field, that I rarely even crop the photos later.
