°°k°° (aka Karen) is one of my favourite photographers on Flickr. Her work is as much art as it is photography. Whether its a photo of a flower, or a self portrait, there is such emotion and beauty here. I am so glad to have come across her photo stream.

Karen's photos are amazing, a perfect blend of reality and fiction, or maybe a perfect blend of realities to create fictions. But like the best of fiction, hers often tells greater truths than facts alone. The truth revealed by Karen's art is that she is sensitive and intelligent, with a strong vision, and an appreciation that subtleties add up to powerful creations. I equate elegance with simplicity, so how it is possible to combine two or more images and arrive at elegant pictures is a mystery to me, but she does it, time after time. And all without any apparent ego as she is also generous with her praise and encouragement in comments on the works of others. Like I said - amazing!
