I make photographs while moving through the world on foot, on a bike, or in the water. Running clears the head. Swimming shuts it up. The camera is there to pay attention.
Drawn to edges, weather, decline, light doing interesting things to ordinary places. Coastlines, industrial leftovers, trees that look like they’ve seen things. Less postcard, more residue.
I read too much history, distrust easy narratives, and am suspicious of beauty that doesn’t earn itself. Photography, for me, is a way of thinking in public without shouting.
If you want to use a photo, ask. I’m friendly, not precious.
