Introduction

Amateur photographer from Belgium, trying to capture the beauty of the world around me.

I have a special interest in observing and experiencing total solar eclipses and if possible, I travel to the locations where such an event is taking place.

A total solar eclipse is arguably one of the most beautiful natural phenomena on earth and standing in the shadow of the Moon is a unique experience that cannot be described with words. Any photographic image of a solar eclipse is nothing but a pale reflection of the real thing.

 

Photography is a hobby and a passion of mine. I graduated in photography in evening class at the Academy of Fine Arts in Leuven.

Besides solar eclipses, I am also interested in:

wild nature,

landscapes,

foreign cultures,

rural live,

cities and architecture,

portraits.

 

I love to photograph in special light circumstances: in grazing light, against the light, ambient light, with low sun light, ...

My Gear

I am working for years with Nikon reflex cameras, first with film based cameras: FE2, F801 and F100.

From 2008, I moved into the digital world with the Nikon D300.

Lenses: 16-85 mm DX, 28 mm 2.8 manual, 50 mm 1.8, 180 mm 2.8, 300 mm F4.0.

In 2013, I moved up to the Full Frame world of Digital Reflex photography (FX format) by the purchase of a D600. The D300 and the 16-85 mm DX lens were sold.

I then bought the 16-35mm F4.0 VR zoom lens which I am still using.

In 2014, bought the Nikkor VR 80-400mm Zoom lens f 4.0- 5.6

In 2015, bought the Nikon D810 camera.

In 2018, I bought the Nikon D850 and I sold the D600. So currently I am using the D850 and the D810 as my second camera.
