In the fall of 2007, I took my first photography class at Vanier College, and witnessed first-hand the power of the camera. Being able to take the camera and document events and people fascinates me. It sparked a passion for the art form which grows bigger everyday. Armed with my SLR camera I aim to capture the balance between the intimate human element and the chaotic environment around them.

My studies have led me to learn and acquire the fundamentals of photography. My first photography course taught me how to use a manual camera and the inner workings of the darkroom. My second course has showed me how a digital camera works and how to edit them using computer software. Since then, I have picked up several books on photography to help develop my technique and ideas even further. I now look forward to continuing my exploration and interest in this medium at Dawson College in the Professional Photography program. I am fairly versatile in my photography. I have experience in taking both 35mm and digital format photography. I enjoy many styles of photography such as portraiture, architecture, landscape, fine art and others.

I always look to capture the moments that will forever be frozen through photography. Inspired by greats such as Edward Burtynsky for his work on landscapes, David LaChapelle for his surreal photos and Henri Cartier-Bresson for pioneering street photography. The power of their work inspires me to express my ideas as a professional artist. I want to use the medium to present my own views on politics, environmental issues, war, love, fashion, beauty and hundreds of other individualistic obsessions.
