In May 2019, Komen Central Virginia and Komen Tidewater merged to create Komen Central & Eastern Virginia (CEVA), making the new Affiliate the local source for funding breast cancer detection, support, and educational awareness in central and eastern Virginia. Since 1998, we have invested more than $11.7 million in education, diagnosis, treatment and support programs here in our service area by funding local organizations that serve uninsured and under-insured residents in our community. The funds Komen CEVA grants to community programs in our combined service area have made a positive difference in the lives of women (and some men) living in our communities.

Additionally, we have contributed over $3.9 million for fund cutting-edge research to develop more effective treatments and find cures for breast cancer. Since 1982, the Susan G. Komen Affiliate network has provided more than $2 billion in funding for screening, education, treatment and psycho-social support programs. We have also invested more than $920 million in research, affirming our position as the largest nonprofit funder of breast cancer research outside of the U.S. government.

The CEVA Affiliate’s services area covers over 80 cities and counties throughout Virginia. Thanks to the thousands of people who participant in Komen events each year, dedicated corporate partners and generous donors, Komen CEVA is playing a vital role in fighting breast cancer in our community.
