Born and raised in La Habana, Cuba, I arrived in the United States as a young girl after being granted political asylum in 1993. As with most Cubans who reach the United States, I became a part of the large Cuban community in Miami.

With its heady mix of languages, cultures, art, architecture, food, music and fashion, Miami is known as the Capital of Latin America. And it was in this city that I began to experience the lifestyle that would eventually lead to my involvement with fashion, and photography.

My career began more or less as a hobby, and I was prolific, never missing an opportunity to take a picture; often using myself as a model. Before long my images began to attract international attention. The first work offered to me was as a model; however my true passion was photography. I soon found myself declining modeling opportunities, preferring instead the creative control that came with working behind the lens.

I now bring my nearly fanatical commitment to perfection to the studio that bears my name.
