Previous to owning a digi camera I have always recorded my 'holiday snaps' by drawing them by hand. When I got my own digital camera I discovered the great scope there is for recording images and that it could be done a lot more quickly. However I still had the artists' 'scorn' for recording things photographically but had not learnt at that stage just what an art photography is in its own right. I first discovered Flickr in 2008 and although I only used it for my own 'snaps' I soon learnt from what other members were displaying that there was huge scope out there and great things to do with a camera even for a non-technie like me. Inspired by the wonderful images I have found, I have tried to develop my ideas a bit more and look for the unusual within the normal everyday scenes of life. I have also enjoyed the visual travel experiences given by other Flickr members' photostreams and feel I have learnt a lot more about the world I live in.

I have a part time job working with people with learning disabilities. My interests are music, reading, walking and of course my pet rats! I am middle aged and live in the midlands of England!
