I'm crazy for cars. My particular obsession is one '67 Pontiac. There are many exceptional body styles from the 60s and 70s but even modern cars have caught my eye. When hunting for the elusive combination of lighting and subject matter I've found my quarry is generally black in color, well cared for, straight and shiny without a layer of grime. I'm often asked if carry a dust rag - No, I have my own car to clean. I imagine when and where I might locate my subject. Often they appear along they way but more frequently not at all. Occasionally I wonder what it would be like to have a mile-deep car show quality paint job of my own which would allow for deliberate placement and timing - For now, I prefer sticking with the randomness of street photography.
When investigating the ideal composition in the myriad options provided by the reflective fun-house of folds, creases, windows, and body lines, my goal is to capture an out of context abstraction. Normally I'll attempt to stay completely out of my images but if you look hard enough I'm still there. You'll find me in the chrome details - sort of like the reflection in a person's eye that captures what it's seeing... if you look close enough.

I'd be pleased to sell you a print. Just stealing a low screen resolution file and printing it yourself just doesn't do my work justice. Send me a message if you find something you'd like for your own real world collection of photography.
