I’m in my 60s [update: now 70s] and a long-time London (UK) resident. For approaching 50 years I’ve attended live music events (my first three gigs in Nov 1968 in the space of a few days were John Mayall, Muddy Waters and Cream). My tastes cover a variety of different styles, including Traditional British and Irish Folk; American Roots Music particularly that emanating from Texas, New Orleans/Louisiana and Appalachia (e.g. Blues, Old Time, Cajun, Bluegrass, Traditional Country, 50s style R & B); Jazz (from Traditional to Modern), and various strands of so-called World Music. I have organised my photos on this site into Collections which reflect such different styles or some other music related themes like Instruments and Venues.

Over the years I’ve had a number of SLR cameras, but very rarely took them to live music events. I bought my first digital camera in 2010 and have since become addicted to gig photography. I did look through my old pre-digital prints and negatives, and found a few worth digitising, and have added them to the site. My Showcase photos below are intended to represent not my best shots, but some of my favourite musical styles. [update: now have three digital cameras (SLR, compact and hybrid) which I switch between depending on venue]
