I have owned a camera most of my life and have used it to illuminate the incredible richness of the world around us. Growth as a photographer or as any other artist requires the willingness to try new approaches and techniques. But, ultimately, there is a subject or theme that appeals to the psyche onto which the innovative ideas are applied. In my case, the beauty of nature and all of its intrinsic elements have been instilled in me from a very early age and this I carry into my photographic works.
My most recent body of work is entitled "Nature's Second Impressions". These images have been made using a variety of techniques to produce one-of-a-kind images. Focusing solely on a reflection in water can produce a more engaging picture than having the subject and the reflection both shown. Intentional Camera Movement gives still images a feeling of dynamicism and translucency. Inverting the colours of the photograph, which results in a creative palette, adds a luminosity to the often overlooked components of the scene. In many cases multiple techniques were used in tandem. Check out the images in the album "Nature's Second Impressions" for just some of the photographs created.
Meanwhile, enjoy this sampling of images that express the potpourri of delights around us!
