I have been following Kim’s 365 day self-portrait series for some time now and I look forward to every image, because each one is fresh and original and shows us another side of her creative personality. She has a gift for instinctively knowing her space as well as her environment and combining the two in an exciting and intriguing way. What I admire most about her work is her honesty and courage to tackle a whole range of sensitive and personal issues. Many images are beautiful and appealing, others contain an edge, a dark surprise that resists easy answers. Often one has to look twice to see the signs, the hints that perhaps there is more there than the first glance would indicate. This combination of honest self-exploration done so creatively, tastefully and with a bite is what I really appreciate about her work. Kim is definitely on a roll and it is a great joy to be along for the ride.
