Katie Keier has been a classroom teacher and literacy specialist in grades K-8 for twenty years. She is currently a kindergarten teacher in a Title 1 public school. A National Board Certified Teacher in the area of literacy, Katie has a Reading Specialist certificate and a master’s degree in Literacy Studies. She has participated in Literacy Collaborative for three years and is trained in Leveled Literacy Intervention. Katie also participated in the Kennedy Center’s Changing Education Through the Arts (CETA) program for five years. Katie is an adjunct faculty member for American University, and conducts staff development workshops. She is the co-author, with Pat Johnson, of Catching Readers Before They Fall: Supporting Readers Who Struggle, K-4.
