I’m Barani, a Mechanical engineer by qualification and Sales Manager by profession from TN, India.

It feels great to share with you all that I have grown with photography in my blood. My first buy from my pocket money was Yashika’s basic film camera. At that time it was not very easy to spend film rolls just because you thought you can possibly get a good frame (not sure at the same time!). Having already spent Rs. 1500 for the camera I was strictly told not to click ‘waste’ and most of the times I ended up getting beaten up by my parents, after all photography was an expensive affair!!

As I grew up, my love of photography grew as well. I bought my first DSLR in Dec’02, Nikon D40, after I had saved enough from my salaries every month. DSLRs had brought new hopes. I could click whatever I saw and all that interested me without thinking much about the expenses since there wasn’t anything to lose. No films and no developing expense! One day a friend of mine invited me to join a photography group named Chennai weekend clickers’. That is when I started going out for photowalks. That was the time when I actually started learning photography. My hobby had started taking a meaningful turn. I got wonderful opportunities to meet photography gurus and yes, Mr. Henk! Mr. Henk the Belgian master of Indian street photography!

With all the amazing experiences I decided to upgrade my gear and bought a Nikon D7000 after spending 2 years of my learning with D40.

There was no doubt that what had started as just a hobby was slowly turning in to passion. I started travelling to places just to capture the world. I started stepping out of my comfort zone just to capture the unique moments of life which we normally never notice. I started noticing nature, life, people, streets and everything that I passed by. I’ve owe so much to this crazy passion of mine!

I don’t wish to make my photos technically perfect. All I wish for is to put life in every frame I capture because photography for me is not just capturing the subject but displaying the essence of life.,
