I am a writer and editor, currently in Winnipeg. I have always been interested in photography, but didn't know anyone who did more than point-and-shoot. Then, I got a job as a historical photo researcher, and, simultaneously, met someone who gave me his old SLR. I then took a few darkroom courses, and I was hooked. I don't have a lot of time to devote to photography, and I learn by trial and error, but it is always fun. I use a Canon AV-1 and also have a German medium-format camera that my dad got at Eaton's in the late 1940s, and a collection of homemade pinhole cameras.

Those are my older photos in my stream--analogue ones. These days I have both a teaching job and a toddler and I just don't have the time to commit even to getting film processed, let alone using the darkroom or pinhole. So I am back to point and shoot for the moment (including mobile stuff) until the day when I commit to a digital SLR.
