Kingsbrae Garden
Drag to set position!
Nestled in the heart of St Andrews by-the-Sea, Canada's premier seaside resort community, is Kingsbrae Garden, a 27 acre horticultural masterpiece, named one of Canada's Top Ten Public Gardens and winners of National and Provincial awards, such as the 2008 "Because Green Matters" national stewardship award from Project Evergreen Canada. The Garden has also been designated a "Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary".
Kingsbrae Garden has been created on the grounds of several grand old estates, incorporating mature cedar hedges, flower beds and an old-growth Acadian forest. Walking paths wind through magnificent collections of over 50,000 flowers, shrubs and trees in many themed gardens, enhanced with a working Dutch windmill (1/3 scale), cedar maze, sculptures, ponds, ducks, alpacas and peacocks.
There is something for everyone at Kingsbrae Garden... self-guided or guided interpretive tours, treasure hunts, croquet or bocce ball (petanque) on the lawn, over 65 species of birds throughout the season and the Kingsbrae Garden Cafe, Gift Shop, Plant Centre and Art Gallery. The site and buildings are handicapped accessible. Ample free parking. Open daily, mid-May to mid-October, 9am to 6pm.
