I remember when dan was trying to get his hands on a digital camera, when all he shot was polaroids (mountains of them). just like his polaroids were all instantly identifiable as his, so are his shots now. his progress has really blown me away and served as a fire under my ass to try and learn half of what seems to come naturally to him. serious kudos.

Dan is able to capture images that I can't understand. The majority of his shots have a substantial feeling of solitude. Dan is able to capture images that I can't understand. The majority of his shots have a substantial feeling of solitude. In this case the world is lifeless and nothing exists except his subject, and they are the sole beacon of life. It's here where I'm truly envious of his superb talent for composition. Than there's the other end of the spectrum, where his appreciation for the things in life truly shine: Life is abundant and it's exuberant in itself. Those are mostly of his wonderful girlfriend and cute-as-hell dog. Diane is cute as hell too but c'mon - she doesn't have Ivan's eyes.
