Relationships and the people with whom you build them. Those are the most important things in life, and my passion lies in documenting those cherished moments for generations to come. Relationships with family. Relationships with friends. Relationships with God. Whether taking a picture of a child, a bride, an event or even an object, I capture the personality of my subject in those candid, precious moments.
I desire to convey a message of hope and beauty through every shot I take. My photography is always evolving, yet a constant theme is that of celebrating life; whether the joys in life bring us happiness or the trials bring us pain, we are blessed to be able to experience all that life has to offer.
My passion for photography was ignited in 2007 while shooting a Mekong River cultural celebration at the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in Washington, D.C. Having been born along the Mekong River in Laos, the connection was made between two passions deep in my heart. Through the encouragement of my husband, family and friends, I took a leap of faith to pursue this passion and launched Kim Lee Designs that same year.
I am available to photograph events, weddings, commercial pieces and portraits. I also have a variety of fine arts prints and greeting cards to choose from on my web site. Click on link to the right. On any given day, you may find me around Richmond with my Canon DSLR camera doing what I was created to do and feeling God’s pleasure.

Kim is a bright star in the photography world and it has been my pleasure to watch her grow and contribute, not just her with well-crafted, and well thought through (and stunning) photos, but the stories behind each photo as well. Her life has been an amazing one, and I feel deeply honored that she has shared her courageous and wondrous life with me. Kim knows who she is, what she believes, and how she wants to share that wisdom, spirituality, and love of humankind (all creatures, really), in such a dignified and caring way.
